Get ready for another bumper year of horror here at The Light! Fun horror continues its comeback and we will get to enjoy long awaited sequels of beloved franchises. Time to grab your friends, get the popcorn and strap in for a year to remember.

Exit 8

Based on a video game of the same name from 2023, this mystery psychological horror film was originally released at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and has received widespread praise from critics. Directed by Genki Kawamura, the story follows a man who’s entrapped in an infinite subway passageway with his only escape being Exit 8. To escape he needs to travel through the corridor whilst identifying any anomalies that he comes across. However, any anomalies that he doesn’t come across will ensure that he is transported back to Exit 0 and resets his progress. Will he be able to make a perfect run or will he be stuck forever?

Lee Cronin's The Mummy

The newest addition to the James Wan and Jason Blum universe is supernatural horror The Mummy. In this reimagining of the iconic The Mummy franchise, a young daughter of a journalist goes missing in the desert but reappears 8 years later. Although you’d expect a joyous celebration when the family are reunited, the reality is far from that when it comes apparent that something is really wrong.

Hokum

Supernatural horror fans get ready for Hokum. Set in Ireland, Adam Scott leads the cast as an author who travels to a remote town in the countryside to scatter his parent’s ashes. But what starts out as a trip down memory lane, quickly turns into a creepy look into the past when it becomes scarily clear that his accommodation could be tormented by demons. All we can say is that maybe the author should have laid his parents to rest closer to home.

Obsession

After breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.

Premiering to rave reviews at Toronto International Film Festival, and currently trending on Rotten Tomatoes at 97%, we're excited to see what terrifying ordeal new director Curry Barker has in store for us.

Scary Movie 6

With over ten years since Scary Movie 5, parody fans have been dreaming of the next chapter and their prayers have finally been answered. The Wayans brothers are back with bundles of slapstick and gross out gags as they continue to recreate and distort well known and universally loved horror films from the ages. Joined by their original cast member Anna Faris, we know this is going to be full of nostalgia and laugh out loud moments.

Plus there's so many more great films out this year, whether you like a scare, a laugh or even a cry. Our cinemas are ready to welcome you and let your emotions take centre stage!
